Mount Pleasant (Town of New York)
a town of New York in Westchester co., about 25 miles N. of New York City. It is situated on the Hudson river and on the New York Central and Hudson River railroad. The town includes the villages of North Tarrytown, Pleasantville, Sherman Park, and a portion of Briar Cliff Manor.
Within its limits are the Westchester County Hospital, St. Joseph's Normal School, and other important educational institutions and hospitals. There are important manufacturing industries, including automobiles.
