Okmulgee

a city of Oklahoma, the county-seat of Okmulgee co. It is on the St. Louis and San Francisco railroad.

It is the center of a rich coal, oil, and gas region, and its industries include the manufacture of window glass and bottles. It has a hospital, excellent public schools, and an old council house of the Creek Indians. Pop. (1910) 4,176; (1920) 17,430.
