Rexford
EBEN EUGENE, an American poet; born in Johnsburg, N. Y., July 16, 1848. He began to write when a mere child, contributing to periodicals and magazines. He published in book form the poems "Brother and Lover" and "Grandmother's Garden" (1887); and a story, "John Fielding and His Enemy" (1888). "The Swamp Secret" (1897); "Into the Light" (1899), etc.
He wrote the popular songs "Silver Threads Among the Gold" and "Only a Pansy-Blossom.' He died in 1916.
