Slosson
EDWIN EMERY, an American editor and writer, born at Albany, Kan., in 1865. He graduated from the University of Kansas in 1890, and took post-graduate studies at the University of Chicago. He was for several years professor of chemistry at the University of Wyoming. In 1903 he became literary manager of the "Independent," and from 1912 was an associate professor at the Columbia School of Journalism. He wrote "Great American Universities" (1910); "Major Prophets of To-Day" (1914); "Creative Chemistry" (1919); "The American Spirit in Education” (1919).
