Venables
EDMUND, an English archæologist; born in London, England, in 1819. He was canon of Lincoln Cathedral from 1867, and wrote much on architecture and archæology, among his works being "Walks Through the Streets of Lincoln," widely popular; "History of the Isle of Wight" (1860); "The Church of England: : Its Planting, Settlement, Reformation. Renewed Life" (1886); "Bunyan" (1888). He died in Lincoln, March 5, 1895.
