Gum solved; and, when strained, the varnish will mastich, 6 ounces; oil of turpentine 1 quart; be fit for use. The above is the simplest, and dissolve. Mastich varnish is used for pictures, therefore the most usual method of making &c.; when good, it is tough, hard, brilliant, common copal varnish; but it may be prepared in a variety of ways, where particular uses may be required.
