Aloes, red oxide of iron, white turpentine, a table-spoonful 3 times a day. 1 ounce each. Melt the turpentine, and strain; mix well; form into pills with mucilage. Take 2 or 3 per day.
5736. Permanganate of Potassa in Gonorrhea. Dr. John G. Rich has employed this remedy with great success. He 5725. Alum Injection for Leucor- begins the treatment with a purgative, and rhœa. Compound solution of alum, 6 then uses as an injection, 3 times a day, 6 drachms; water, 1 quart. Mix, and use grains of permanganate of potassa dissolved in it lukewarm. 1 ounce water. 5726. Lead Injection for Leucorrhœa. Sugar of lead, 60 grains; water, 1 quart. Mix. 5727. Catechu Injection for Leucorrhœa. Catechu, 1 drachm; myrrh, 1 drachm; lime-water, 12 ounces. Mix, and dilute with water. 5737. To Apply Caustic to the Urewater, 1 thra. A weak solution of nitrate of silver (2 or 3 grains in 1 ounce rose-water), may be used as an injection twice a day. Some prefer a stronger solution of 10 grains to the ounce, injected every 2 or 3 days. It may be also administered as an ointment of 10 to 20 grains to the ounce, smeared on a bougie and introduced into the urethra. This is perhaps better for severer cases of gonorrhea; the inmyrrh, 1 5728. Caustic Injection for Leucorrhea. Nitrate of silver, 35 grains; water, 1 quart. Mix. 5729. Zinc Injection for Leucor-jections answering the purpose for milder cases, rhœa. Sulphate of zinc, 40 grains; water, and gleet. 1 quart. Mix.
