Marrow Oil
Take clarified beefmarrow, 14 ounces avoirdupois; oil of almonds, 4 Imperial pint; melt them together, and scent the mixture at will. Held in high repute as a hair oil, by many. That of the small stores has seldom any marrow in it, but lard instead. The appropriate scents are the same as for bear's grease. It is generally tinged slightly yellow by means of a little palm-oil or annotto.
