Murexide
This is the purpurate of ammonia, and consists of iridescent crystals, which reflect a beautiful green color, but transmit an equally fine reddish-purple color.
It is obtained from alloxan, a substance 4234. Chloride of Barium. Also formed by the action of nitric acid on uric called Muriate of Baryta. Mix gradually 10 ounces carbonate of baryta in small pieces, acid.
