Pineapple Essence
To 3 parts aldehyde, 5 parts butyrate of ethyl and 10 parts butyrate of amyl.

In priately, strong spirituous solutions, either French perfumery these are, approsimple or compound, of the essential oils and odorous principles of plants and other substances, obtained by infusion or digestion, as distinguished from those that are obtained by distillation and direct solution. Under the term, however, are often classed many perfumes prepared with rectified spirit by the latter methods, and which are highly charged with the fragrant matter, or matters, which they represent. The preparation of most of cerine, 1 part chloroform and 1 part nitric the extraits is simple enough, the chief care ether, add 2 parts aldehyde, 10 parts acetate of ethyl, 10 parts valerianate of amyl, 10 parts solution of tartaric acid, and 1 part saturated solution of succinic acid. (See No. 1045) necessary being that the spirit be absolutely scentless and of sufficient strength, and that the oils and other materials be recent and perfectly pure.
