Red Hair Dye (Strong infu- Method of Using)

A strong infusion of safflowers, or a solution of pure rouge, in a weak solution of crystallized carbonate of soda, gives a bright red like henna, or a red dish yellow, according to its strength, if followed, when dry, by a mordant of lemon juice or vinegar diluted with one-half to an equal bulk of water.
