Tincture of Aloes and Myrrh
Take 3 troy ounces each socotrine aloes and myrrh, both in moderately fine powder; 1 troy ounce saffron in moderately coarse powder; mix together, moisten with 2 fluid ounces alcohol, pack it moderately in a conical percolator, and displace, with alcohol, 2 pints of the tincture. This tincture may also be pre' pared by maceration for 14 days with 2 pints alcohol, and filtering through paper. (U.S Ph.)
