30-The battle of Richmond, Kentucky, was fought between General Bragg, who had been reinforced by General Kirby Smith, and General Manson on the Federal side. The Union forces were defeated with a loss of six thousand men. Bragg then threatened to attack Cincinnati, but was foiled in the attempt by the preparations of General Lew Wallace.
