DEAR ROBERT-Knowing that you are desirous of starting in business for yourself, I write to say that it is in my power to offer you a loan of five thousand dollars ($5,000) without interfering in any way with my own business or expenditures. I trust that you will let me have a friend's privilege, and accept the money on such terms as will best suit you.
