Boshes
That part of a cupola immediately above the tuyeres. In large cupolas and blast-furnaces this part is gradually contracted from the widest part to the hearth, and the bricks used for this purpose are distinguished as bosh-bricks. See CUPOLA; WATER-BOSHES.
