Evaporation generally signifies the dissipation of the volatile parts of a compound body. Natural evaporation is the conversion of water into vapor, which, in consequence of becoming lighter than the atmosphere, is raised considerably above the earth, and afterwards, by a partial condensation, forms clouds.
