Templet
All formers, sweeps, strickles, etc., are in some foundries improperly called templates. The template is simply an outline, in wood or iron of the whole or part of a mould or pattern in course of construction, and serves to test the accuracy of the work as it progresses. A frame or board shaped to the outline of a pipe, with lines to mark off the true position and angle of the flanges, etc., or any other similarly devised guide, is a tempaet also.
