The Meta-Encyclopedia sets seven public-domain reference works side by side. Where more than one of them covers a subject, their accounts appear together on a single page, so you can see what each generation of editors thought worth saying.

6,767 subjects have a page of their own. A further 22,532 appear on shared pages, because only one encyclopedia recorded them and none at length. Nothing has been rewritten: the text is as it was printed.
