Thais
A celebrated woman of Athens, who accompanied Alexander the Great in his Asiatic conquests. She is alluded to by Dryden in his famous ode, Alexander's Feast: "The lovely Thais by his side Sate like a blooming Eastern bride In flower of youth and beauty's pride."
