Flesh Color for Dyeing Silk

Boiling water, 1 gallon; put in 1 ounce white soap, and 1 ounce pearlash. Mix well, then add a cupful of annotto liquor. (See No. 95.) Put the silk through several times, and proseveral times, and proportion the liquor till you obtain the required shade.
