Flexible Varnish (Boil ounces dried white)
Boil 3 ounces dried white copperas, 3 ounces sugar of lead, and 8 ounces litharge, in 1 gallon linseed oil; stir constantly until it strings well, then cool slowly and decant the clear portion. If too thick, thin with quick-drying linseed oil.
