Magnetic Poles

Two places on the earth's surface, approximate to the north and south poles, where a dipping needle assumes a position perpendicular to the horizon. The north magnetic pole is situated in the latitude of about 70 deg. north and the longitude of 97 deg. west; the south magnetic pole in the latitude of about 70 deg. south and the longitude of 145 deg. east.
