Routine

A series of established rules whereby the business on board ship may be carried out systematically, whether at sea or in port, in warm or cold climates, etc. These rules embrace the care and preservation of the vessel, the airing and washing of clothes and bedding, holy-stoning of decks, arrangement of meal and smoking hours, drills, etc.
