School-ship

Naval

A vessel set apart for the education of boys and young men in all that pertains to practical seamanship and the common English branches, in order to fit them for sailors in the navy. (See Naval Apprentice.)

A State School-ship is organized and supported by the local authorities, with the design of preparing young men to become officers in the merchant marine.
