Burmah.-In Burmah the system of metallic money is the primitive one of currency by weight. There are no gold or silver coins, and the only ones are a few in lead for small payments. Lead, silver, and gold are used for money. For large payments gold and silver are used; all payments made by the balance, the unit of weight being the Sical, worth about 2s. 8d. English. In British North America accounts are generally kept in Dollars and Cents, but sometimes in £. s. d. currency, the word currency being used to distinguish those denominations from £. s. d. sterling of Great Britain. 100 Cents...... = I Dollar.
