Ring
A word of general application to all circular contrivances for moulding purposes, but invariably recognized as meaning the cast-iron ring which encircles the seating of a loam-mould, upon which ring the cope is built, and by means of which it is passed to the oven and from thence back to the pit for final closing over the mould. See COPE-RING; COPE; LOAM-MOULDING; BUILDING-RING.
