Trowel
This is unquestionably the most important of all the moulder's tools. The square trowels vary in size from 1/2 inch X 3 inches to 2 inches X 7 inches, and are supplied with a handle similar in style to the ordinary mason's trowel, but smaller. Others, again, having handles, are heart-shaped, and vary in size from 1 1/2 inches to 3 1/2 inches across. There is, besides these, a combination tool having a square at one end and a heart at the other, which for general purposes, in skilful hands, is the most useful of all. See MOULDING-TOOLS.
